AN EGYPTIAN GOLD AND GREEN-GLAZED STEATITE FINGER RING
New Kingdom, Dynasty XVIII, 1550-1307 B.C.
With a rectangular steatite bezel, one side with a wadjet-eye, the other side with a hieroglyphic inscription reading "may the beauty of my lord remain (?)," the bezel designed to swivel by means of two wires which pass through its perforation and then loop at the end of the plain hoop, one wire knobbed at each end, the other coiled on to the shoulders of the hoop
