A GREEK GOLD CRESCENT PENDANT
Hellenistic Period, Circa Late 4th-3rd Century B.C.
Ornamented with a filigree twisted wire palmette framed by scrolling tendrils, enclosed by a border of ropes between large and small gage beaded wire, each end wrapped in sheet, adorned with a rosette, and terminating in a pyramidal cluster of granules, the lower edge with three perforations each supporting lengths of loop-in-loop chain with ribbed cone-shaped pendants, a ribbed suspension loop above adorned with a rosette with a granule at its center; suspended on a modern elaborate loop-in-loop chain
