The plain hoop round in section, expanding slightly at the shoulders where it merges with the tapering oval bezel, set with a flat oval carnelian engraved with a profile draped bust of Mercury, the youthful god with a wing in his wavy hair, his well-modelled face with an arching brow and detailed lidded eye
