A ROMAN GOLD AND CARNELIAN PENDANT
Circa 1st Century A.D.
The flat oval stone deeply engraved with a facing bust of Minerva, her head turned slightly to her right, wearing a cuirass and a triple-crested Attic helmet, bezel set, the backing with a projecting flange rolled into a suspension loop above; the entire pendant now fitted into a larger modern pendant fringed by a band of disks and supporting a pearl drop
