Predominantly early 17th Century
With flattened tapering double-edged blade with rounded tip, etched indistinctly on each side with a running fox, each side of the ricasso stamped with four stars, iron hilt of rounded bars comprising downcurved quillon with swelling tip, arms linked to the centre of the knuckle-guard and joined by triple bars, plummet-shaped pommel of octagonal section, and wire-bound grip (scattered surface pitting)
