First half of the 16th Century
With long spike of stiff diamond section flattened at its base, axe-blade with slightly curved cutting-edge and pierced with triangular patterns of circular holes, triangular fluke also pierced with circular holes and a slipped trefoil, and struck on one side with a mark, tapering socket, four straps, two made separately, and oak staff of rectangular section (base missing)
