A 38-BORE FLINTLOCK BOX-LOCK POCKET PISTOL, AND A PERCUSSION OVERCOAT PISTOL
The first signed Wood, York, circa 1800, the second by Williams & Powell, Liverpool, circa 1840
The first with turn-off barrel inlaid with a gold band at the muzzle, signed engraved action, thumbpiece safety-catch, folding trigger, and flat-sided walnut butt with silver escutcheon (some surface pitting, cock replaced), Birmingham proof marks; the second with rebrowned twist sighted barrel, engraved patent breech with two platinum lines, signed engraved case-hardened back-action lock with safety-catch, figured walnut stock, chequered butt, engraved blued iron mounts, and stirrup ramrod (hammer spur replaced)
