With three-stage cannon barrel, signed breech engraved with rococo ornament (cock replaced, steel associated), shaped foliate tang, figured walnut butt carved in relief with a shell at the barrel tang, engraved iron trigger-guard, and cast and chased silver mounts comprising trophy of arms side-plate and escutcheon, and grotesque mask pommel (iron parts worn and with surface pitting), London proof marks, silver maker's mark probably that of John King
