A 50-BORE BAVARIAN FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL

Reconverted from percussion, with tapering swamped sighted barrel inlaid with silver scrollwork, signed in silver on the sighting flat, and with silver spider fore-sight (incomplete), the top of the breech with gilt maker's stamp (Neue Støckel 7717), silver-lined touch-hole, engraved tang numbered '1' and incorporating the back-sight with two extra leaves, signed rounded lock, moulded walnut full stock (repaired) carved with scrolls and strapwork in relief, the butt cut for a shoulder-stock, bronze mounts cast and chased in relief with masks and foliage, the side-plate with a putto, the butt-cap with a monster-head surmounted by a crowned portrait bust and angels blowing trumpets, set trigger, horn fore-end cap, and later horn-tipped ramrod
