An antique Karabagh long rug, South Caucasus
The shaded deep indigo field with polychrome floral panels, rosettes, palmettes and leaves around large blackcurrant-red serrated medallion with bold hooked palmette pendants containing similar design enclosing ivory floral centrepiece, in shaded ice-blue border of rosettes and meandering leafy vine between blackcurrant angular floral meander stripes, outer reciprocal and plain stripes, single cartouche on each side border with possible date ?, localized repiling and small old repairs (very well blend)
