An English sulphide weight commemorating the Great Exhibition of 1851
Circa 1851
The sulphide medalion with the upper two thirds moulded with a view of the Crystal Palace titled THE BUILDING AT LONDON FOR THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION 1851 above the inscription J. PAXTON ESQ. ARCHITECT and ALLEN & MOORE (?), the lower third moulded with a crowned portrait medallion of Queen Victoria flanked by cherubs (slight scratching and minor chipping)
2 7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) diam.
