They were re-corked in 1987 and shipped from the family's frasqueira by one of the owners descendants, Captian Fairlie, for sale at Christie's in London. Tasting note: A fabulous color, amber with lime-green rim, the hall-mark of maturity and quality; beautiful bouquet, rose cachou, ethereal like Grande Champagne Cognac, and high volatile acidity. Fairly sweet, touch of caramel, high alcohol and acidity. Clean as a whistle." MB
