Lot Essay

The battle of Zorndorf, 25 august 1758, in which the King himself was in command, was one of the most bloody of the war. Of an army of 42.000 the Russians lost almost half of their men against 12.500 lost on the Prussian side. The battle lasted till darkness and ended in a Russian retreat.
