The circular drum-shaped case hung with a floral pendants and surmounted by the figures of Venus and Cupid trailing drapery and swirling clouds, the circular white-enamelled dial with pierced gilt hands and Roman and Arabic numerals, the movement with silk suspension and pierced countwheel strike on a bell, the backplate signed Lepine hger du Roy A Paris No 4232 on a bow fronted plinth base inset with a panel depicting cherubs and flanked by paterae on bun feet, lacking pendulum, lower inscription to the dial removed
