THE MONTE CARLO RALLY WINNING BMC COOPER S WORKS MODEL
The Mini astonished the world when it won the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally in the hands of Paddy Hopkirk. Timo Mäkinen repeated the performance the following year. Dick Bursi, responsible for the Styling Department of BMC, then prepared a model of the winning car. This unique example was directly given by Alec Issigonis, the genius behind the Mini, to the present owner, a well known photo-journalist. Professionally constructed to pattern-makers standards of resin and wood with fabricated chrome-plated bright-work, bumpers and lamps etc. It measures 75cm long by 35cm wide and 31cm high (scale1:4) and is in excellent condition.
