decorated in gold and black lacquer hiramakie with four dragons on each side encompassing emblems of everlasting life, the top and bottom surfaces decorated with stylised leaves and fruits on a scrolling foliate ground, the interiors in red and black polished lacquer and gyobu nashiji, wood netsuke carved as an ink cake section, the inro -- 3in. (7.6cm.).
