An unusual snowstorm ground and red overlay glass snuff bottle
19th Century
of pear shape, very finely carved through the overlay with Zhongkui and demons performing acrobatics between pine and bamboo branches, the reverse with a dignitary on horseback crossing a bridge, flanked by two further demons, one holding a parasol, stopper -- 3¼in. (8.2cm.) high, (minor wear).
