A French gilt-bronze and champlevé enamel striking mantel clock, circa 1880
The case surmounted by an urn finial and flanked by winged caryatid mounts terminating in scrolls, with Bacchic mask to the front, the breakfront base raised on claw feet, the dial with engraved gilt Roman chapter ring and champlevé enamel centre, blued steel hands, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell -- 20in. (51cm.) high
