A French boulle tortoiseshell and ormolu mounted bracket timepiece, parts second quarter 18th century
The case with waisted pediment surmounted by a cherub finial, glazed side panels, with caryatid mounts to the front angles and on dolphin feet, the dial applied with individual white enamel Roman cartouche chapters and with centre cast with eagles and scrolls, blued steel hands, the single barrel movement cut-corner plates and vase-shaped pillars, verge escapement with silk suspension, alarm train now lacking, the back plate signed Coupson Paris/No-24; associated, movement and case 18th century, dial 19th century -- 22¾in. (58cm.) high; and a giltwood sunburst wall timepiece, early 20th century, of typical form, with white enamel Roman dial, the single barrel movement with vertically positioned lever escapement -- 21½in.
