A Victorian mahogany longcase clock, circa 1845
The wide-bodied case with outset hood columns, inset columns (detached) flanking the short trunk door, with recessed plinth panel, the 13½in. painted dial with cottage, bridge and church scenes to the spandrels, Roman chapters with subsidiary seconds and date rings, the arch with scene of Raby Castle, Durham, pinned directly to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 87½in. (223cm.) high
