A George III miniature mahogany longcase clock, late 18th century
The case with carved flowerhead caps to the swan neck pediment, with central urn finial and flame finials to the sides, outset fluted columns and with moulded door frame, the trunk door with blind fret carving to the throat and with fluted three-quarter columns flanking the wavy arched door, with further carving to the chamfered plinth angles, on stepped base with bracket feet, the 7in. wide brass dial with cherub and foliate mask spandrels to a Roman chapter ring, matted centre with aperture for rolling moon with age of moon, the arch above with convex disc signed Ed. Bullock/Ellesmere, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 57¾in. (146.5cm.) high
