An early Victorian mahogany library timepiece, circa 1840
The case with stepped top with bevelled glass, conforming side glasses, the part bombé base on block feet, with gilt sight ring and gilt engine-turned mask with vacant signature plaque to a white enamel Roman dial, blued steel hands, the four pillar movement with rectangular plates, single chain fusee with anchor escapement, with pendulum holdfast to the back plate -- 10in. (25.5cm.) high
