A Charles I brass lantern clock, mid 17th century
With original engraved brass front fret, later (?) engraved brass side frets, original bell with finial partly lacking, later brass rear plate with spikes, original side doors, on bulbous feet, narrow Roman chapter ring, the dial plate engraved with flowers and thistles and signed Humphry Clarke Near y/Angel Inn in Hartford, single hand, escapement converted to anchor, formerly balance, largely retrained, with countwheel strike -- 12¾in. (32.5cm.) high
