An English porcelain rectangular portrait plaque
Circa 1835
Painted with a portrait of a dark-haired gentleman, seated, one arm draped over the back of a chair and holding a book, wearing black frockcoat, waistcoat, white shirt and black cravat, later dark red plush mount within a later pierced giltwood frame (some deterioration to glaze and minor glaze flaking)
14 in. x 13 3/8 in. (36.2 cm. x 34.2 cm.) overall
