A Meissen Kakiemon baluster jug and cover
Circa 1735, blue crossed swords mark
With scroll handle and short pointed spout, gilded and painted with flowering peony issuing from bound fences, the reverse with an insect in flight and a red and blue ho-o bird, the handle with a flowering branch, the circular cover with a pointed lug for the spout and similarly decorated with a ho-o bird and flower-sprays within a brown line rim (cover with chip opposite lug, minute wear to enamels)
