MARILYN MONROE SCRIPT FROM THE RADIO SHOW "EDGAR BERGEN WITH CHARLIE MCCARTHY"
1952
A twenty-one page mimeographed script from the "Edgar Bergen with Charlie McCarthy" radio program that was used by MM when she was a guest star on the October 26, 1952 CBS broadcast. Outlining a cute plot where Charlie and Marilyn decide to get married, her last name is written in red pencil on the cover page (though not in her hand) and all her prompts have been circled with the same red pencil on the interior pages. Clipped to the script is a small piece of paper titled 'Movie Ballot' where MM's name is pencilled under the heading 'My Favorite Actress Is' while John Wayne is listed under 'Favorite Actor.' Strangely, a human-sized bite mark appears on the left-side margin of the entire script -- likely an in-joke during the taping which took place on October 18, 1952, eight days before the segment aired.
