MARILYN MONROE EARLY SIGNATURE AND PHOTOGRAPH
Circa 1949
An original print color photograph of Marilyn Monroe wearing an orange bikini housed in a vintage paper frame-folder with her black fountain pen ink signature on the inside left cover reading To Bob Morris--/From/Marilyn Monroe, the signee being the photographer who shot the image. This early signature is an excellent example of Marilyn's true handwriting as it is boldly and carefully penned. (The circles over her lowercase 'i's can still be seen -- a holdover from her childhood printing style that she eventually dropped.) Once she became famous and was inundated with autograph requests, her signature became less precise. The current consignor received this piece as a gift directly from Bob Morris who lived next door.
12 x 20 inches (when opened)
