A NORTH GERMAN RED AND GILT-JAPANNED BUREAU-CABINET
Early 18th Century
Decorated overall with courtly figures and palaces in chinoiserie landscapes, the arched, waved, moulded cornice above a pair of shaped doors, enclosing a plain blue-plainted interior with two shelves and a drawer, the bureau section with a hinged fall-front enclosing a fitted interior with six stepped drawers, centred by a door above a well and two pigeon-holes, above two waved drawers, on square tapering legs with foliate capitals and joined by a waved stretcher, on later bun feet, minor losses, refreshments to the decoration
