A SEVRES ASSEMBLED 'FEUILLE DE CHOUX' PART DINNER SERVICE
Circa 1761-1793, blue interlaced L's enclosing various date letters, painter's and gilder's marks for a variety of different artists, various incised marks
Each piece painted in colours with loose bouquets and flower sprays within lightly moulded 'cabbage leaves' enriched in gold and feathered in blue, comprising:
Two ice-pails, covers and liners (seaux à glace couverts avec leurs interieurs), the bracket handles enriched with blue-line-and-gilt-dash decoration (one liner with two one-inch losses to the border, 8½in. (21.6cm.) high, 9 3/8in. (23.8cm.) long overall
Two glass coolers (verriers crenelés), 11 5/8in. (29.4cm.) long overall
Three oval sugar-bowls and covers (sucriers oval 'feuille-de-choux'), 6¼in. (15.8cm.) long
Three oval stands (plats oval 'feuille-de-choux'), 9½in. (24.1cm.) long
Two jam-pots on a fixed stand (plateau à deux pots de confiture), 9 5/8in. (24.4cm.) long
Three salts (salières), 3 1/8in. (8cm.) long
A mustard pot and cover (pot à moutarde et sa couvercle), 3¼in. (8.3cm.) high
Four square dishes (compotiers carrés), 8½in. (21.6cm.) square Seven shell-shaped dishes (compotiers coquilles), the handles enriched in blue, one with a trophy of Love in the center, 8¾in. (22.2cm.) long
Seven shallow circular dishes (compotiers ronds), 8 7/8in. (22.5cm.) diam.
Two salad bowls (jattes ronds), 9¼in. (23.5cm.) diam.
Three larger salad bowls (jattes ronds), 10½in. (26.7cm.) diam.
Ten soup plates (assiettes creuses), one with a trophy of Love in the center, 9½in. (24.1cm.) diam. (one cracked three-quarters across)
Sixty dinner plates (assietes feuille-de-choux), 9½in. (24.1cm.) diam.
Twelve coffee cups (gobelets 'litron', 2eme grandeur, 2 5/8in. (6.6cm.) high
