FIRST EDITION OF THIS GREAT RARITY, one of the scarcest works of the Indian Wars of the West. This work is the daily diary of Daniels, a soldier in Sibley's expedition into Dakota Territory to suppress the remaining Sioux after the Minnesota Uprising. It also provides a record of the troops with names and rank. The only other copy to appear at auction in the last 25 years was the Siebert copy, sold Sotheby's New York, 28 October 1999, lot 724.
