A strong, finely detailed three-quarter length portrait of President Roosevelt, in wide-lapel jacket, waistcoat and tie, gazing unflinchingly at the camera. Roosevelt's inscription in dark ink beneath the image reads: "To Homer Davenport Esq with the regards of Theodore Roosevelt May 21st 1905." A fine formal portrait by one of the premier portrait studios at the turn the century.
