WASHINGTON, George (1732-1799), President. Autograph closing and signature ("Yr Most Obedt Hble Servt G:oWashington"), cut from an early letter, n.p., n.d. [ca.1760]. 1 page, a small oblong (2 x 3 5/8 in.), part of wax seal in lower corner, neatly inlaid to a larger sheet with an engraved portrait.
A signature and closing from the last page of a letter, in the characteristically round hand of this early period, which contrasts with the more condensed, upright hand found on Washington's surveys from the 1750s (see lot 350).
