Lot Essay

Willoughby Smith (1839-1905) was born in Red Hill, Montgomery County and died in Womelsdorf, Berks County. He apprenticed near Pennsberg. In 1864 he purchased a log house and a pottery in Womelsdorf. The business accomodated mail orders and local orders and filled 75,000-100,000 orders for flower pots.
