Lot Essay

Conrad Mumbouer (1761-1845) worked with Michael and Henry Stoneback who were potters in Haycock Township, Bucks County. A 1796 tax assesment shows Mumbouer as owner of one old log house, one log barn and one potter shop. He purchased land in 1833 in Springfield Township, but continued to work in Haycock Township. He was a successful potter whose estate was worth $3,913.
