Lot Essay

Also known as the flat tulip artist, Daniel Otto was active in Berks, Center, Dauphin, Northumberland and Union Counties. He is believed to be the son of fraktur artist Henrich Otto. Like this lot, most of his works are from Northumberland and Centre Counties. For a similar example and further discussion of the artist see Earnst, Papers for Birth Dayes (East Berlin, Pennsylvania, Vol. II) pp. 588-592.
