Sotheby's, May 21, 1996, lot 12: "This group of four geometric bowls ... were found together in the vicinity of the historic mining town of Mongollon, Arizona, in what was thought to be a collapsed mine portal, but was, in fact, a natural cave that had been covered by a rock slide probably generated during mine activities. The vessels were found in an inverted position, four of them placed in stacks of two."
