engraving with aquatint and hand-coloring, 1836, on J. Whatman, trimmed within platemark, a tiny nick to the surface in the neck and breast of the pelican, a few faint surface scuffs, an unobtrusive moisture stain in the background, minor soiling in the margins, a small crease in the lower right margin corner, a 1 3/8-in. tear in the upper right margin (extending just into the image) and a pale attendant stain, binding holes (as issued) partially touched-in, mounted to the supporting mat in several places along the margin edges, otherwise in good condition, framed
