A SILVER PRESENTATION PITCHER OF HISTORICAL INTEREST Mark of Tiffany & Co., New York, 1873-91 Vase form on spreading circular foot, the body with presentation inscription and acroteria borders at intervals, the angular handle with stylized lotus leaves, marked on base, the neck with import marks for Charles Stuart Harris, London, 1898 13¾in. high; 39oz. 10dwt.

PRESENTED BY /THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT TO FREDERICK WATKINS MASTER OF THE STEAMSHIP "PARIS" OF NEW YORK./IN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF HIS HUMANITY & KINDNESS/TO THE SHIPWRECKED CREW OF THE/STEAMSHIP "VINDOBALA', OF LONDON, WHICH WAS ABANDONED IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN, ON THE 27TH DECEMBER 1898.
