A UNIQUE PAIR OF GOLDEN PLOVER
Charles "Shang" Wheeler, Stratford, Connecticut, Circa 1940
Decoratives, in spring and fall plumage, with metal legs; in naturalistic setting of sand and simulated marsh grasses. These birds were made circa 1940; nine such pairs are illustrated in Shang by Dixon Merkt, p. 28, pl. 21.
Very good condition; slight abrasion to several wing tips; several grass blade tips have broken off
