A UNIQUE PAIR OF RUDDY TURNSTONES
Charles "Shang" Wheeler, Stratford, Connecticut, Circa 1940
Decoratives, in spring and fall plumage, with metal legs; in naturalistic setting of sand and simulated marsh grasses. These bird vignettes were made circa 1940; nine such pairs are illustrated in Shang by Dixon Merkt, p. 28, pl. 20 and 21.
Very good condition; several grass blade tips have broken off
