Four with slightly corroded capsules. Four new "R.C." labels, one very bin-soiled and five slightly bin-soiled, torn and stained. Levels: six into neck, five upper and one mid-shoulder. Six reconditioned in 2002
In new wooden case from Château Mouton-Rothschild embossed 1945
Tasting note: I originally coined the phrase " a Churchill of a wine", meaning larger than life, immediately recognizable, complex, endlessly fascinating, unforgettable. Quite unlike any other claret ...extraordinary colour. The power and spiciness surge out of the glass like a sudden eruption of Mount Etna. Seemingly tireless - indeed another half-century anticipated. Last tasted June 2001, ****** (6 stars!) M.B.
