For a pair of creamware wall-pockets splashed in Whieldon type lead glazes identically modelled to the present saltglaze example, see The Jean and Kenneth Chorley Collection, Christie's New York, 25 January 1993, lot 86. The later-decorated oval butter-tub stand is from the same mould as the pair of undecorated examples offered as lot 133 in the present sale.
