A Japanese gold lacquer rectangular box and cover
Meiji period
decorated in hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, nashiji, kirigane and touches of aogai, with scattered maple leaves and flowerheads, the interior containing four further boxes and covers decorated with flower roundels, metal rims -- 4 5/8in. (11.7cm.) wide, (some chips to corners).
