Descriptif du lot

This is a highly unusual work for Frith, perhaps all the more so when one considers that it was executed when he was nearly eighty years old. He was however, a keen admirer of the female form, and fathered nineteen children, legitimate and illegitimate, between his two marriages. Other examples of his work are included in the sale as lots 10, 99, 126, and 335.
