Lot Essay

The present composition by Strozzi is dated by Dr. Mortari to 1635-36 while the artist was in Venice, and is the pendant to the Diana in a private collection, Sao Paulo (see L. Mortari, Bernardo Strozzi, Rome, 1966, p. 173, fig. 411).
