The present work is double-sided. It shows Liegende Frau mit Flieder painted in 1923, and Bildnis Mo van Haugk in 1932. The earlier painting features the artist's wife, Londa, Freiin von Berg in a reclining pose.
Felixmüller re-used the canvas eleven years later to paint the couple's friend, Mo von Haugk, an elegant society lady. She is portrayed in flamboyant manner, which relates stylistically to the art of the Neue Sachlichkeit. The earlier image of his young wife has been painted in an expressionistic style, in a senusual pose with a rich palette. She makes a striking contrast with Mo, who also features in the important portrait Kunstfreunde I of that same year.
