Two Derby (Duesbury and Keane) plates from a botanical service
Circa 1795, each with crowned crossed batons and D mark in blue, pattern number 115, 8 to the footrim and impressed H
En suite to the preceding, each with moulded lobed rim enriched in two-tone gilding with lily-of-the-valley, the centres painted with a specimen flower, the first with a stapelia with a yellow and brown spotted flower and a rooted green stem with pink tips, named Stapelia Variegata Variegated Stapelia in blue to the reverse, the second with a fritillaria with brown, orange and red flowers with yellow stamens pendant beneath green leaves on a green and puce stem, named Fritillaria Imperialis Crown Imperial in blue to the reverse (both with slight wear and scratching)
