A pair of Magdeburg baluster reticulated vases and covers
Circa 1760, manganese M marks
Painted in manganese, pink and green, the bodies of each moulded with three panels painted with figures in gardens and wooded landscapes, one with a courting couple, another with a lady with a bird and the other with a lady with a watering-can, within rococo scroll-moulded cartouches against pierced trellis grounds with manganese, pink and green flowerheads at the intersections, the short necks and moulded waisted feet painted with flower-sprays, the pierced domed covers with large pink rose finials (very slight flaking and fritting to rims and extremities, foot of one vase with slight crack, two shallow chips and restored chipping, the upper rim with two small chips, covers with chip to finial, one cover restored)
