A Frankenthal Chinoiserie teacup and saucer and a Nymphenburg teacup and saucer
Circa 1765 and 1770, the first with crowned CT mark in blue incised H2 to teacup and impressed 2 0 to saucer, the second with impressed shield marks and impressed I. to both
The first painted with a chinoiserie figure smoking a pipe and holding a bell-toy among shrubs and grasses supported on a gilt scroll half-cartouche with garlands of purple foliage surrounded by scattered flower-sprays within a gilt loop and pendant flowerhead border; the Nymphenburg teacup with grisaille goats within a gilt half-cartouche, the interior decorated in sepia with a bearded man above a diaper cartouche, the saucer with Tobias and the angel supported by a similar cartouche within a broad diaper and gilt pendant trefoil border (some wear to gilding of cup) (2)
