stamped with the signature, letter and foundry mark 'Degas D A.A. HEBRARD CIRE PERDUE' (Lugt 658; on the top of the base)
bronze with brown patina
Height: 18in. (45.7cm.)
Original wax model executed in 1896-1911; this bronze version cast before 1936 in an edition of twenty-two numbered A to T, plus two casts reserved for the Degas heirs and for the founder Hébrard

Walter Halvorsen, London.
J.K. Thannhauser, Berlin, by whom bought from the above 12 Aug 1929, as one of the entire series of bronzes of Degas dancers.
